Today- Complete the blog quickly and then do what guest teacher Mr. Pafford says to do. Remember- be good. Anyone mentioned for anything other than being a great person will get 5 days of cleanup duty.
WEEKEND ASSIGNMENTS-
1. Get a full page COLOR photo out of a magazine. Make sure it is a photo- not a drawing, painting, or collage of multiple photos. Just a full page photo that is school approriate- the more random it is the better. Tear it out of the magazine and bring it into to school.
2. The photo assignment for the weekend- MOTION. You are to create a photo that shows motion. Take a look HERE for some examples. PANNING is a great way to show movement in a photo. No matter the content of the photo, the best way to show motion is to use a slow shutter speed. Shoot in manual mode or shutter priority mode, and get the shutter speed under 1/30th of a second. If you don’t have these modes, switch your camera to LANDSCAPE mode (remember in landscape mode you will get a small aperture which equals a longer shutter speed).
You can also try shooting when the sun is not as bright (or shoot inside). The less light there is, the longer the shutter speed will need to be to get a good exposure.
For today’s post- Respond to this quote-
“There is no such thing as bad photo assignments … only bad photographers.” – Anonymous
What is this quote trying to say? Do you agree or disagree? Why or why not? What can you learn from this quote?

Today- We will hand back the CH 3 worksheet and discuss it, and then you will receive the CH 4 WS for the eBook that is on your computer. By completing the worksheet you will have a better understanding of sharpness in photography.
If you did not turn in your Exposure Worksheet 2 yesterday you need to today!
Next Week- We will be working on something called LEARNING TO LOOK. You will need to find a FULL PAGE photo from a magazine to write about and answer these questions (in complete sentences). You might want to find a photo to use!
For today’s post- We are going to watch a(n amazing) video called TRANSFORM done by the great and amazing photographer Zack Arias. The video was shot with a very simple camera (a Flip camera). Watch it and more importantly listen to it. What is Mr. Arias really saying in the video? What is his message? What do you get from it? (We can talk about it a bit after it is over if you have not idea!)

Today- You will have some more time (15-20 minutes) to work on your Gilmore photo(s). After that we will spend the remainder of the class working on the exposure worksheet that was given to you yesterday.
THURSDAY- QUIZ OVER THE ISOs- 1600, 800, 400, 200, 100, 50, 25, 12
For today’s post- Photographer David Bergman recently created a Gigapan at one of the World Series games. “this panoramic image from Game 1 of the World Series by stitching together 675 photos (45 across by 15 down) taken over a 53-minute span starting at 8:02PM ET. The progression of individual photos start in the top left and proceeds top-to-bottom and then left-to-right. The final hi-res file is 104,360 x 27,836 pixels or 2,904 megapixels.”
You will need to go HERE first and LOGIN with your user name and password. Then go HERE TO MLB to see it. If it does not work, I will show it to you all on your screen.
What do you think of this type of photography? Where would you create a Gigapan if you could (in present day)? Why? What would you hope to capture? If you could travel back in time, to ANY point in time to create a Gigapan, when and where would you go to create one and why?
